"It was so hard to drive home this morning and I'm unsure why... Blame it on the pregnancy and hormones, but I was on the verge of tears the whole way home. It gets me every time I see a Terrain and it sure doesn't help the fact that I drive pass my accident site every day. Why is this still so hard for me? I LOVE my new car, don't get me wrong, but my terrain was the first car Jay and I bought together. That car helped save mine and Charlies lives. Its like a trigger every time I see one. It's been almost 4 weeks.. I'm ready to be done with this feeling."
This post made me cry and made me very sad for Ashley. As her mom, my heart hurt for Ashley and I wanted to be able to say something to help her. Last night, I spent most of the evening searching the internet for something that I could share with Ashley that might make her feel better. I didn't find anything and went to bed trying to think up something myself. I know I've said it before, but my Mountain Wings Moments always seems to "speak" to me when I need it the most. This was in my e-mail this morning. Ashley, I hope you know its okay to "fall apart." We all have at one time or another. "The sin is not in falling, for we ALL fall short. The sin in in failing to get up." (MW)
Sometimes We Need To Fall Apart====================== We don't always have to be strong. Sometimes our strength is expressed in being vulnerable. Sometimes we need to fall apart to regroup and stay on track. We all have days when we cannot push any harder, cannot hold back self-doubt,cannot stop focusing on fear, cannot be strong. There are days when we cannot focus on being responsible.Sometimes we cry in front of people. We expose our tiredness, irritability, or anger. Those days are okay. Part of taking care of ourselves means we give ourselvespermission to "fall apart" when we need to.We do not need to be perpetual towers of strength. We ARE strong. We have proven that our strength will continue if we allow usthe courage to feel scared, weak, and vulnerable when we needto experience those feelings. Today, help me to know that it is okayto allow myself to be human. Help me not to feel guilty or punish myselfwhen I need to "fall apart." ~Author unknown~
