A pinning ceremony is an intimate celebration/reception with your family and friends. The ceremony is student-organized and financed, as each class is responsible for planning, coordinating, and funding their ceremony.
Pinning provides each undergraduate student with the opportunity to walk across the stage and be “pinned’ by family members, friends, or significant others while a thank you message (written by each student) is read by the narrator and the student’s picture is displayed to the audience.
Translation --- A "tearjerker" moment for Moms and Dads!
