Talan was 8 months old yesterday. Its amazing when I think about how fast the time has gone and how much he has grown in that time. He changes so quickly and masters new skills almost every day.
A couple of weeks ago, he went from the soldier (tummy on the floor) crawl, to full on, moving right along crawling. You can't keep him in one place for very long any more.
And for about 5 or 6 weeks now, all he has wanted to do is pull himself up and stand. He sits on the floor with his little hands and feet going around in circles as he reaches out for your fingers to hold on to as he pulls himself up. Those hands and feet. They make me laugh. He does it when he sees his bottle, sees his food, almost anytime he gets excited about something the hands and feet start going round in circles. I really need to get a video of that before he stops doing it.
A couple weeks ago, Jennifer was in a friend's wedding so she, Randy and Talan spent the weekend with us. That Friday night, Talan learned to pull himself up all by himself.
So, now when we see him he crawls to something and pulls himself up to look around. He can walk around holding on to furniture and his "walker" that Uncle Troy bought for him. Last weekend, he stood by himself, not holding on to anything for about 2 seconds. Yes, I know, 2 seconds doesn't sound like a very long time, but "baby steps." Before long, he'll be walking all by himself!! Today, Jennifer and Talan made their every other Wednesday visit for lunch with Grandpa. According to Grandpa, Talan has now also learned to clap. Can't wait to see this for myself.
Talan hasn't begun to "talk" yet. He does a lot of what we call "singing." Make sure you have your speaker up on this video, so you can hear him too. We love listening to him, and watching him growing and changing everyday.
Nice touch with the videos! I am in the market for camcorders, have any suggestions? Did you take these with a camcorder, or with your camera? Or then again, with your phone? Let me know if you have any tips!
