Ashley's 25th Birthday

Ashley celebrated her 25th birthday Saturday night, inviting friends and family to her house.  We arrived a little early and had brought our gifts and the gifts that Joanna had sent up with us.  Ashley wanted to open her presents before everyone started to arrive, so we watched her do so.  Joanna got her a couple Coach wristlets, a scarf and some bangle bracelets.  We got her a couple of purple vases that she had mentioned seeing at Hobby Lobby.  We also got her a gift certificate to Massage Envy as she had also mentioned wanting to get a massage.
Modeling the bracelets Joey gave her.

A purple vase from Mom and Dad.

Vases and gift card.

After opening all of her presents, people started to arrive.  Everyone brought food of some sort.  There was the queso Ashley had made, chips and salsa, 7 layer dip and cupcakes from Kelli, Chick-Fil-A from Lindsey, chocolate cupcakes from Jessica, and much more.  Lots of good food and plenty to eat.  A few of the guys were watching the Mavericks in their playoff opener. The group got a little larger about the last 5 minutes of the game.  Everyone hoping the Mavericks would get the win in their first game.  And of course there was beer pong and darts.  Si and I stayed till about 11:30 and then headed home.  From the way Ashley looked yesterday at dinner (and from what she told me), the party continued for quite awhile after we left.
Stirring the queso.
Happy Birthday Shots.
Happy Birthday candles and cupcakes.

Laughing over the trick candle.

Ashley, thanks for inviting your "old" parents to join the party.  It was nice being able to celebrate with you and your friends.   And it was nice getting to meet a bunch of your co-workers; to be able to put faces with the people you talk so much about.   And I'll say it once again, Happy Birthday, Ashley.  You were my unexpected gift from God and I treasure everyday that you have been in our lives.  I love you!
